Has anybody received any of the team card packs yet? If so, just what exactly is in them? They seem expensive at $25 if they are just stat cards. Do they add $25 worth of game play? While they do have the general stat cards like the base game, they also have blank cards so you can have cards for players you create. There are also special play cards, Star Player cards, and a team roster card.I don't know that they'd be worth $25 to me, but I guess the blank cars could be useful if you prefer that with or instead of the roster sheets to check stats during a game.

What's the point of having A LOT of cards in the table to check the stats that you could see in ONE roster? Also, after a couple of league games, you will know the skills of all your players. The only value for me are those 8-10 special play cards. Not worth $25.I would bet they heard a lot of voices talking about how the orcs and humans in the base game had stat cards, but then none of the extra teams did, so they produced something accordingly. I'm sure the packs will appeal to some people. But not meI wonder whether it might have been a better idea to just have one pack of basic player stat cards and star players for all of the available teams so far. I probably would have purchased that for the pick-up-and-play games with casual people. Once you're in a dedicated league, they don't really have any use. Enh, I bought a set of the Elven Union cards.

Now that I've got my car paid off, I've got some extra frivoling money. What I find the cards most useful for, are for developed players. If they're just on a team roster I frequently forget what skills they have.

Prior to this, I've just been printing them out on 3x5 index cards. As I've mentioned before, I plan on photocopying the blank cards, cutting out & filling out, then cramming that into a card sleeve with a blank one to give it a bit more heft. The special play cards in the EU pack were pretty meh. I just mixed them into the regular decks. The team record card seems to be beyond useless.I'll definitely be getting the Skaven cards, probably the Goblin cards. Maybe the Human & Orc if I run out of other stuff to waste my money upon. So, do the Trolls, Ogres, team boosters, and boxed teams not include player reference cards for the figures included? That's a bit of a slap in the face. Player cards are a great innovation of this edition, especially for newer players. We should be able together the without having to buy a bunch of optional cards we do not need. They come with rules on a sheet of paper, but no cards. The Blood Bowl starter set has reference cards to get you playing quickly, but once you start your first tournament, you'll probably find it easier to track things on team sheets instead.

The Blood Bowl starter set has reference cards to get you playing quickly, but once you start your first tournament, you'll probably find it easier to track things on team sheets instead. That makes sense.I want to expand my base game, but I still expect I'll be spending more time trying to recruit my friends than I will be playing in leagues or tournaments. So I like the expansion figures to be as user-friendly as the base set.Maybe I'm the exception in this regard. That said, for the price of, eg, a Troll, would it have killed them to include a card? Obviously they know Troll cards are useful.

Why else would they include it in the Orc player card pack?I don't want to be the guy who is always complaining though! I'm sure the team roster sheet will be perfectly fine for any new players I recruit. That said, for the price of, eg, a Troll, would it have killed them to include a card? Obviously they know Troll cards are useful. Why else would they include it in the Orc player card pack?To be honest, I don't think reference cards were something they originally intended to do. Including unit cards isn't something GW have done very often. I think they came up with these cards as a response to some people asking for them (probably because the game sold much better than expected, and probably brought in a lot more gamers who might not usually be GW's core audience).Personally, I don't think the card packs are worth the money.

For the price, there are much better things you could get for the game. That’s why they give you number transfers for each team.I hadn't even thought of that. I'd been figuring those were meant for players with custom skill sets, but I suppose they work as well with standard positionals. The decals are going to hard for us middle-agers (my wife doesn't see well and struggles even with the pictures), but I'll give them a pass (and tell her to find her glasses). Maybe we'll get some coloured skill rings. Each transfer sheet also has positional names that you can put around the rim of the base. So, you should be able to tell at a glance what position someone is playing in, and then tell from the number what specific player on your team roster. That's the theory, anyway!
